Calne Choral News Bulletin No 7–7th January 2021
Sadly, we begin a New Year, not only as we finished the last, but with another “lockdown” much as the one at the start of the pandemic last March. Any hope we had of light at the end of the tunnel disappeared with the return of these restrictions on 4 January. It means that we had to cancel the booking for a concert in March and are probably looking beyond that before being able even to start rehearsals. I think that we should expect that larger choral societies are going to be a challenge to bring back until most of the population had been vaccinated and social distancing rules are relaxed. Understandably, there will be those who would not want to return to the choir until they are confident that it is safe, whilst others will want to start as soon as permitted. This means a relaxed return and as some have said to me “I just want to sing again”. Don’t we all! In the meantime, keep looking here for more news and I hope you and your families remain safe and well. David |
